Participate (may take on a lead role) on a project with a team of engineers involved in mechanical and/or thermal design and development of Cisco products. Requires use of a strong background in mechanical and/or thermal engineering, EMS design, development, documentation and implementation, on projects that may include any of the following list of responsibilities:
Represent Cisco to customers and the rest of the industry in the development and deployment of internetworking solutions.
Contribute innovative ideas for multiple module architecture. Define product internal/external interfaces. Develop complex designs independently.
Write complete functional and design specs independently.
Write portions of product spec. Lead development of subsystems.
Strong knowledge in metal fabrication, plastic, die cast, Optics and PCB layout
Contribute to the development of project goals, schedules, and resource planning.
Develop systems test plans. Perform complex system level tests.
Interface with other functional groups (Compliance, Safety, Manufacturing etc.)
Evaluate and recommend tools Solves complex problems at the system level.
Define product level test and simulation strategy.
Participate in Cisco s Patent Program.
Designs and develops advanced thermal/ structural solution to meet the critical performance requirements Resolves issues with CAD and Manufacturing Engineers in developing new boards.
Designs board level simulation tests. Contribute towards forecasting and ordering the lab equipment requirements In addition to ME-2, take full responsibility in all chassis and tray design
Develop schedule and manage medium to large size tasks Proficient in geometric tolerances, and familiar with DFx (DFA/DFM etc.)
Design and conduct special test and problem solving
Experience in NX & Team center is highly preferred. Pro-E experience is a plus.
Be a mentor and train junior engineers
