IBM Research Software Developer Intern-Undergraduate in SAN JOSE, California
IBM Research is seeking a Software Developer Intern candidate to work at its Almaden Research Lab in San Jose, CA.
You should be familiar with Python, Java, shell scripting (BASH/Perl), JSON, ResT, Node JS, (must be proficient in at least one) and help code, develop and automate software solutions and utilities for cloud and non-cloud systems. Some of the focus areas are automation security and migration tools to help users migrate systems to the IBM Cloud. Experience performing data networking , performing basic data center operations, as well as experience performing systems provisioning and administration in a Cloud environment, are all a plus.
The internship will begin as part-time during the school year and then full-time during the summer months. This is a
great opportunity to work with IBM Research developers/engineers on industry emerging technologies.
This position is for an undergraduate candidate pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related area.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
At least six months experience coding in one of the following (Python, BASH, Perl, Java, C, C++, Node JS)
At least six months experience doing Linux Systems Administration
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
At least 1 year experience coding in one of the following (Python, BASH, Perl, Java, C, C++, Node JS)
At least 1 year experience doing Linux Systems Administration/Provisioning in a cloud environment
Cisco / Juniper Data Networking
Raised Floor Data Center Operations - (Device racking, installation, cabling technologies, connect to network)English-Fluent
